With all the recent socio-political changes in Myanmar, we arrived eagerly in Yangon & Mandalay, quietly busting in one of the world’s most isolated countries. As expected, the Burmese people were friendly and curious at the newfound tourism they undoubtedly have begun to see. Yet aside from the emotional politics and despair that most people here have been used to, there is also an incredible energy and culture about Burma that seems both familiar and yet unique.
